Other Requirements

Secondary Mathematics Teacher candidates must complete four (4) courses in Mathematics at the 200-level or higher at Siena Heights University.
Secondary Mathematics Teacher candidates can declare themselves as education majors their first year. At the end of their first year, they apply for intent. Along with several requirements, the minimum GPA must be 2.50. At the end of their second year, they apply for candidacy, which requires a developmental increase of a 2.75 GPA along with other requirements. At the end of their third year, candidates apply for full acceptance. This level has the most rigorous requirements with an increase of a minimum of 3.00 GPA.
