Workforce Development Refund Policy

Siena Heights University Workforce Development strives to assist every student to successfully complete their online certificate program. On occasion and under extenuating circumstances, a student may withdraw from a program and request a refund of tuition paid. This policy facilitates that process and defines the conditions for granting a refund.

  • Program Start Date: For the purposes of this policy, Workforce Development online certificate programs begin on the date the student first logs into the content provider’s Learning Management System.

  • Procedure for Withdrawal:
    • A student has the right to withdraw from the program prior to or up to five (5) days after the program start date.
    • A student choosing to withdraw from the program must follow the procedure of the content provider, which includes providing written notice of the withdrawal.
    • A student who has been determined to be in violation of the Attendance Policy will be withdrawn from the program.
    • A student may request a Leave of Absence (LOA) following the procedure of the content provider and must return by the specified reentry date or be withdrawn from the program.
  • Refunds:

    • Students who withdraw before the program start date are entitled to a full refund of the charge for the program.
    • Students who withdraw within five (5) days of the program start date are entitled to a full refund of the charge for the program.
    • Students who withdraw after five (5) days of the program start date are not eligible for a refund.
    • Students withdrawn due to violation of the Attendance Policy are not eligible for a refund.
    • Students on authorized Leave of Absence (LOA) who fail to return by the specified reentry date are not eligible for a refund.
  • Payment of Refunds: Siena Heights University will issue the approved refund amount to the source(s) of the initial tuition payment within 30 days of receiving written notice of withdrawal from the content provider.

Workforce Development Attendance Policy

Students enrolled in an online certificate program through Workforce Development are required to engage in an academically related activity every week. If a student is absent for ten (10) consecutive calendar days, the student’s enrollment in the program will be terminated.

A student whose enrollment was terminated for violation of the Attendance Policy may re-enroll when the program is next offered. This provision does not circumvent the Refund Policy.
