COM 480 Communications Internship 1-12 credit hours
The internship is offered to give students practical experience in specialized areas of communication such as journalism, public relations, advertising/marketing, editing, publishing, and media. Students in the major are required to complete a minimum of 3 credit hours’ worth of internship experience. Each credit hour is the equivalent of 50 hours of hands-on work experience. Students can fulfill their requirement as a 3 credit hour opportunity, a combination of 1 and 2 credit hour opportunities in different semesters and/or positions, or exceed the requirement and earn up to 12 credit hours in one or more positions. Duties, workload, hours, goals, and assessment will be arranged by the student, faculty advisor, and internship provider.
