ENV 320 Permaculture Principles and Applications I 4 credit hours
Through a mix of lectures, field trips, and field work, students will be introduced to the history and design principles in permaculture. This course will explore how ecological principles and horticultural techniques are applied in permaculture systems. We will investigate existing permaculture and regenerative farms to identify the design principles at work and determine if they are having their intended sustainability results. Coursework will be supplemented by on-site field work.
Prerequisite: BIO 150 Introduction to Agroecology & Sustainable Agriculture or ENV 110 Introduction To Environmental Science Course is Offered: WI Every Year
